Our Responsibilities

The Taraba State Board of Internal Revenue Service (TIRS) is entrusted with the critical responsibility of managing and optimizing the state's revenue collection processes. Our key responsibilities include:

Tax Administration

We assess, collect, and enforce taxes including: Personal Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Business Premises Levy, Road Taxes and more.

Revenue Innovation

We’ve introduced the Centralized billing system & Tax payment portal; A single, unified tax notice that simplifies compliance and improves transparency.

Compliance & Enforcement

Our Monitoring and Compliance Department ensures adherence to tax laws, investigates evasion, and supports enforcement actions.

Memorandum of Understanding
with Local Governments

To further enhance tax administration, TIRS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with all 16 Local Government Areas in Taraba State. This partnership aims to:
